Just wanted to let readers know that we have not fallen and can’t get up! We are up to our elbows in a new business venture. Six weeks ago we leased a small retail space and just two weeks ago opened, Auburn Vintage Market. We are selling refinished and up upcycled home furnishings and decode, antiques, and other lovely vintage things.
I have painted, refinished, and sold furniture from home for the last year and decided to take the plunge and get a retail space. We have just 500 square feet and it was in deplorable shape when we got the keys. We worked hard for four weeks, painting, removing ceilings, replacing flooring, and decorating our space.
In case you think you might have missed a delicious recipe, rest assured there have not been any. In fact, my car pulls to the right now from going through so many drive-thrus!
I am happy to say that we are settled into the store and our new routine of being working retirees is coming together. I expect to soon be organized enough to cook and blog.
The chickens are fine, although sadly we lost Judge Judy, our oldest chicken a few weeks ago at the age of eight. She led a happy, long life for a chicken and was laid to rest under a beautiful oak tree.
