The chaos of selling one house, buying another, packing and moving, has given way to the boredom of living in a house slated for a whole house remodel. The remodel starts next week. Friday was a stress filled day, so I vowed that today would be peaceful. I thought about going shopping but I had to wait for the cable guy. Then I remembered that I haven’t had the time or energy to join the Scavenger Hunt Sunday photographic challenge in ages. I knew it would be the perfect way to take my mind off my worries and have some fun. I loaded the dog on our Cricket scooter and we took off for some fun around our little acre.
As a reminder, Scavenger Hunt Sunday is a photographic challenge sponsored by photographer and blogger, Ashley Sisk. Participants are given a list of five words or phrases to interpret through photographs. I am obsessed with quotes, so I often add one to my photos.
Here is the list we had to work with week, and my interpretations.
- 1. What I’m Doing Today
Tucker and I started our day picking pears in our front yard. So today, I was picking pears. The brown oak leaves are courtesy of the drought.
- 2. Inside
The sky was gorgeous today, promising a sprinkle one minute, taking it away the next. I hope I can remember the voice inside me next week when I need it most.
- 3. Candid
- 4. Yum
Maybe not yum to everyone, but I had to make salmon patties today to prove that my photography has improved since 2009. Right now a horrible picture of salmon patties I posted in 2009 is making the rounds on Pinterest. I had to right that wrong. Shudder.
- 5. Natural Light
We have a beautiful place to watch the sunsets on our back deck. A couple of night’s ago I gasped when I saw this out the window. We rushed out just in time to capture a few shots. I love natural light. I plan to make the most of it in this house.
Those are my photos for the week. Please take a few minutes to check out what submissions by the other Sunday Scavenger Hunters.
