We love all the animals on our little farm and feeding them appropriately is a fundamental part of keeping them healthy and happy.
Before Tractor Supply came to town, we had trouble getting feed for our four large, hungry emus. Local feed stores “special ordered” it for us, but it often took two months to arrive. Ordering online was cost prohibitive due to the shipping charges for fifty pound bags. We often found ourselves having to find other animal feeds that would somewhat meet the nutritional needs of our six-foot-tall feathered friends.
When Tractor Supply opened, we went in looking for emu feed. Once they realized that there were emus in town, Tractor Supply ordered Purina Emu Chow and have stocked it since then! The dry season is here now and the lush grass for grazing is gone. TSC had promised to increase the their order of feed to meet our needs. It is nice knowing that Purina Emu Chow will be there when we need it, not two months from now.
In each Tractor Supply store, you’ll find a staff of experts we like call our friends and neighbors. They’ll bring you the products, services and seasoned advice you need out here in the foothills. Tractor Supply carries an extensive line of pet food & supplies including premium brand food, treats, flea & tick control, beds, crates, kennels, collars, leads, bowls, grooming supplies, toys and more. Tractor Supply has pretty much everything you need to care for your animals, whether you have exotic and rare breed animals like we have, or beloved family pets. I think you’ll find what you need at Tractor Supply but if they don’t have it, they’ll try to get it.
I am heading to Tractor Supply today for layer pellets for the chickens crimped oats for the donkeys. I might pick up a cute T-shirt or two while I’m there. 🙂
Community is important to Tractor Supply. They support local FFA and 4-H groups, as well as host a variety of community events in theirstores. On Saturday, July 12 all Tractor Supply Stores will be having special events. Our store is having a Horse Health event with mini horses from a local ranch, a saddle maker, and 4-H groups offering information about horse anatomy and proper feeding. Michael and I are going, but we’ll take my car because the trunk lid won’t close with a mini horse in there! But, I am going to ask one of the horse experts about Horseshoer’s Friend, a hoof supplement recommended by our farrier. I checked online and not only does Tractor Supply stock it, but it’s on sale too.
Mark your calendars for the Horse Heath event at Tractor Supply on Bell Road in Auburn, CA on Saturday, July 12th from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. To find out what’s going on Saturday at your local Tractor Supply Store visit them online HERE.
