Scones and possum

May 8, 2009

(Not in the same pot.)

I woke up hungry for carbs this morning and decided to try a recipe for Almond Poppy Seed Scones. They were super easy to make and delicious. The recipe and pictures are posted here.

Now for today’s mayhem. This afternoon we went out back with the goats and chickens and found a surprise sleeping in our squirrel feeder. I thought it was a dead rat until Michael started banging on the glass and woke it up. He thought it was a raccoon! We’re city people, ok? Enjoy.

Thanks Dianne. I have you bookmarked. Love your site. I share your sentiment about grandkids. My oldest gets her driver’s license soon!

That is sooo funny! I loved the clip. I love your blog. I now happily have 12 little chickens (pics on my blog) and have just about talked my husband into two little dwarf nigerian goats!

    Blessings,
    Dianne

Now that they’ve found you, your adventures with opossums will likely continue. Just don’t give them a chance to get those VERY sharp teeth too near a finger, a toe, or the cat!

But, they are sooo much fun to watch. Our resident ones always try to gain entry into any available trash container. Bungee cords work well to keep them, and the raccoons, out.

Enjoy their antics! From a distance! 😉
