I thought today was going to be bright and sunny the way it started out. I even had enough dry time this morning to start working on MY version of the goat-free zone. I dug a couple of holes, set some posts in concrete and hung a gate. Tomorrow I hope to finish it, weather permitting, of course.
When I went into my garden I found this pleasant surprise…
Our fruit trees have started to bloom. But the surprise was short lived, for the skies opened up and it poured rain. The chickens seem to love to be out in the rain. Here’s Ethel looking like a drowned rat.
Oprah seemed to have a bit of an attitude though.
The goats had to hang out in the barn most of the day because, heaven forbid, they get wet.
They slept a lot but made time for some head butting and playful silliness.
Banning watched for a change in the weather.
Finally, at about 4:00 this afternoon it stopped raining long enough for them to go outside. Note how high the creek is behind the barn.
Here they are on their favorite spot, the picnic table, standing in the B.A.D formation. (that’s Banning, Aidan, Donovan)
I had a long talk with Banning.
Everything was fine until I asked him about the weather.
