on the other side of the fence!
When I went down to feed the animals this morning I noticed that the weeds are completely gone from the area where the animals live. But, they are growing freely on the other side of the fence. I thought about it all morning waiting for Michael to get up so we could discuss it.
The way I saw it, we had three options:
3.) Move the fence.
So when Michael got up, we started moving the fence! This will give the animals about double the size yard they have now and solve our weed problem. The chickens should have that area weed free in a couple of weeks. Brilliant!
We cemented new fence posts today and tomorrow we will finish moving the chicken wire and putting in two gates. I am really excited about this project because I love to look out all day and see happy animals doing their thing. It should cut down on the goat pool parties too!
This next picture I call Still Life Iced Tea and Eggs
I made the mistake of thinking I could take my lunch down to the backyard to eat while we worked on the fence. I guess this would be the time to tell you how much chickens enjoy a good grilled cheese sandwich. So I gathered the eggs and put them and my ice tea on top of the chicken yard for safe keeping.
Lastly, Donovan wanted everyone to know what a good boy he has been today.
